What a World of Women ...
Yesterday was International Women's Day and it got me thinking about all the incredible ladies i get to meet week in week out...
In my amazing job I get to photograph many people across Toronto. I get to meet and photograph women who are still so new to the world they've only been in it 6 days! Women who have just become mommies for the very first time or are veteran mommies with baby number 3! Then of course there are the wise Grandmothers that are often at my sessions lending their help to their children. From one to the other each one is incredible and unique. Each brings something to the world that the other can't.
How awesome is it that we as women get to have the privilege of growing such special mini humans from within us and then have the job of tenderly raising them with our families. There is no one quite like your mum. It takes me back to think about who all these mini people will become, what will they do, how will they impact the world when they have already affected their families lives so greatly. Their opportunities are endless and that makes me smile and so grateful to those who went before us to pave the way for women. Meet a few of the mini women I've got the privilege to meet recently....
Then of course there's the teenage generation of Women who are walking a different teenage womanhood then most of us older ladies. The world of social media has influenced them to extreme proportions, they have to deal with SO much from SO many. There is something simply beautiful when you chat with a teenage women about their hopes and dreams. The excitement that overcomes them with the thoughts of their future is endearing and contagious. I always leave my teenage sessions energized and hopeful. They know not of limits yet, they are ambitious and full of character. I absolutely feel blessed to photograph these stunners and encourage them. Meet a couple of World Changers right here...
We as women have to stick together to encourage and uplift each other. There is so much joy in making others feel awesome about themselves, something so rewarding in helping someone to achieve their goals. I love to do this with my camera of course as that is my area of talent. I love to use my photography to capture the beauty of these women and show them all how incredible they are.
Keep up the good work Women of the World :)
