3 Benefits of In-Home Newborn Photography || Toronto Baby Photographer || CopperRed

Hey Toronto, I have someone to introduce to you!

This is Benjamin, and he totally rocked his in-home newborn photography shoot a couple of weeks back. 

I wanted to use his blog as an opportunity to share with you the reasons why I love to do in-home newborn sessions.

1. Less Stress

Newborn photoshoots are ideally done between 5 and 15 days old.

Now, I am a mummy of two and had very different birthing experiences with each of my kiddos.  So I am definitely speaking from experience when I share with you what I believe are a few of the many benefits of choosing an in-home photoshoot.

My first munchkin (Elijah) was a crazy emergency c-section after 27 hours of labour and 40 minutes of pushing. He then spent time in the NICU. He was also born during a crazy snowstorm in February of 2013. 

My second champion (Joel) came in February of 2016 and wow what a different story. A beautiful waterbirth! Only 6 hours labour in total, 20 minutes of pushing and out he came. 

The thought of having to pack up my new baby on either occasion as well as myself and head off in bad weather to a studio for up to 4 hours would have been quite daunting. I was still very much in the early stages of healing myself at that time. 

2. Comfort

You have everything you need for yourself and your little one at your fingertips in your own home. You don't have to worry about packing or forgetting to pack anything. 

I have even had mummy's take a shower or nap during the session. They can use the time to just relax in their own home while I am working away in the lounge. 

You are often still recovering too. With an in-home shoot you can sit on your own comfy sofa, in your sweats and a t-shirt, with no hassle of getting dolled up for an outing. 

3. Saves you time

By having your newborn photographer come to your home you save yourself time.

There is no long commute to and from the studio, or loading up the bags and the car etc. You simply just wait for me to arrive, I bring absolutely everything with me so you do not need to prepare anything, and then I pack it all down and take it all away when I am done and you continue with your day.
 

So when you are weighing up the pro's and con's of the various newborn photographers in your area and what they offer, keep these benefits in mind.
