Winter Engagement Photoshoot || Dundas Peak || CopperRed Photography
Winter is wonderful and winter engagement shoots give me all the fuzzy feels. The cold is the perfect excuse for adventurous couples who are braving a winter session to cozy up extra close.
Katharine and Serge are absolute troopers. They didn't have a specific engagement shoot location in mind and so were game for my suggestions. I put forward the idea for Dundas Peak over towards Hamilton and they loved it. I hadn't been over to this spot before but it had been on my location bucket list for a long time.
So after doing lots of research to figure out where to park and how to reach the peak we headed on our way. Of course we were planning to run the photoshoot during the gorgeous and dreamy Golden Hour. What we didn't anticipate in almost the middle of March is that it would be snowing on us. For the entire drive over the sky was packed with clouds with no sign of sunlight.
We sat in the car for an extra 5 or so minutes to let the worst of the snow pass and then decided to embrace it and make it part of the session. So we began our adventurous back route hike to Dundas Peak. It was truly magical. We couldn't believe how warm we were stood in the snow with no sun.
The hike to the peak took a little over half an hour with all our stops for epic shoot opportunities. As we reached the peak God was definitely smiling down on us as a tiny break in the thick cloud appeared and a beautiful golden hue shone down as Serge and Katharine danced, cuddled and watched the sunset.
I couldn't be more excited about capturing their big day in June but for now we can all enjoy these absolutely stunning winter engagement photos.
