Travel Themed Newborn Photo Shoot || CopperRed Photography

The wonderful world of Newborn Photography is so vast and diverse. I offer two different styles of in-home newborn sessions, Welcome To The World - Posed, and My Beautiful Life - Lifestyle. I am truly in love with both approaches to capturing new babies, it completely depends on the family's taste as to switch style they book up.

A recent family booked up and then mentioned that they would like to theme part of the session to Travel. The thought of themed photoshoots tends to fill me with nerves/dread as it's not really my style and more often than not I feel looks tacky. Generally speaking I steer clear of themed shoots and run with very classic and timeless set ups with the aim that the photos will still be just as treasured and beautiful 20 years down the line. So needless to say I was a little apprehensive.

However, after chatting with James' lovely mummy I learned how much meaning and value was placed on the idea of travel and decided to throw caution to the wind and run with it for one setup within the session. I could not have been happier with the outcome. What a fun and yet stunning shot! The items his mum picked out were so tasteful and classy. It is often great to step out of the norm and out of my comfort bubble to produce creative pieces of art. I am so happy that this family wanted to go with such a unique theme. It will remain one of my favourite shots for a long time. 

Of course we still captured some gorgeous classics, including a sneaky santa outfit...
