Toronto Island Couples Photo Shoot || CopperRed Photography
Last week I was up before the sun catching the TTC down to the Ferry Port to meet up with David and Alessandra. With seconds to spare we made it onto the Ferry over to Wards Island, bikes in tow.
The ride is only short but the views were stunning as the sun rose. Of course we had to jump right in to shooting as the lighting was too beautiful to miss.
With the skyline behind us slowly becoming smaller we headed off to explore the Island. I remembered there was a cute boardwalk and beach not far from the port and so we headed there first. I had not however remembered the gorgeous sea of birch trees. What a find!
By the time we left the spectacular trees the sun was fairly high and projecting some golden harsh light so for a change I decided to shoot them with the direct light and see how it would go. I was really happy with the images it produced, it adds a nice variety and depth to their gallery.
Piggy backs and cuddles were plentiful as well as casual bike rides through the residential homes as the sun peeped through the trees.
We thought we might head over to the other side of Ward's Island with the skyline as the backdrop and it was cold! Wow did the temperature drop from one side to the other. It's a great thing that with the cold brings closeness, snuggles and intimate moments in abundance. It also helps to have a gorgeous wool Hudson's Bay Blanket in tow.
After we had had quite enough of the chilly side we strolled through some super interested sidewalks with quirky homes lining them. We headed over the big iron bridge and found a beautiful tree lined field to cozy up, dance and spin in. Sun flares, smiles and laughs all round.
It wasn't long before we were back on the return ferry ride capturing some final photos before enjoying the city view to finish up.
I loved adventuring with David and Alessandra, getting to hear their story, how they met, their future plans and everything in between. What an honour to spend my life capturing love and encountering incredible people as I do so.
So if you are looking to document your love story in Toronto, York Region, Halton Region or Durham Region pop me a message. I would love to plan a bespoke adventure to suit you and your love story. Let's do it!
