Why Should I Hire A Wedding Planner? || CopperRed Photography
I think this is a question most brides will ask themselves at some point along the wedding planning journey. Getting to be a part of weddings on the regular I have gotten to see the ins and outs of how a wedding planner affects your day and so I thought it’d be cool to give you all the goss.
Maximize Your Budget
Lord knows weddings are a small mortgage most of the time and a great wedding planner is able to maximize your budget. If you book an awesome one that’s got heaps of experience they will have countless contacts and knowledge on where and how to tap into the best deals. I would say this has to be one of the greatest advantages because it’s likely that this is your first rodeo but it sure isn’t theirs.
2. Timing Timing Timing
Weddings run late even for the most organized bride, I promise you lol. It is just a fact. The usual culprits from my experience tend to be underestimating the time to complete hair and makeup and then the time it takes to get all the bridesmaids and the bride into their dresses. Occasionally it’s out of your control and the transport is held up in traffic but 9 times out of 10 I’ve found it’s the dresses that need to be laced up or the hair and makeup getting touched up/redone.
In steps your ninja wedding planner! They are like timeline fairies I swear lol. Brides with wedding planners who are experienced in their craft have seamless days that flow and stay on track throughout and it’s just beautiful to experience. Staying on time lowers anxiety, stress and increases the overall enjoyment for the bride and the rest of the bridal party. So hand over the control to your planner and they’ll ensure it’s all ship shape and running like a well oiled machine.
3. Awkward Conversations
This one might often overlap with #2. When there are awkward conversations to be had with other vendors, maybe to keep you on time or get something done correctly you don’t have to be the one to have it, wahoo! I am definitely someone who appreciates this as I die inside at the thought of those kinda convo’s. Who wouldn’t love having that be someone else’s job on their wedding day? The last thing you want to have to do is be telling the florist they’ve put the flowers in the wrong place or telling the hair and makeup team that they need to pick up the pace a little or you’ll be late to your own wedding lol.
4. Kick Ass Tool Box
Wedding Planners come with the most kick ass wedding day tool box you could ever imagine. In my years of doing weddings I’ve seen them put plasters on bridal party blisters, touch up makeup, pin in stray hairs, apply deodorant to the brides pitts and literally sew up a hole in a brides dress a couple of meters from the top of her aisle (hello Victoria lol)!.
They have everything under the sun in there from tylenol to sewing kits and more. For sure this box of goodies is a welcome miracle worker in many unanticipated moments. One of those times where you didn’t know you needed it until it was too late.
5. They Fight For Your Vision
Your wedding planner knows your vision inside out and they will go to battle to ensure it’s just how you want it. They will triple check the ceremony flowers, the reception decor and table layout. They will make certain your guests are where they need to be when they need to be and will do it all without you even seeing.
You will not have to go to double check anything. You get to just enjoy your day and feel confident knowing you have an awesome planner ensuring your dream wedding is going down just how you envisioned.
6. They Hide The Errors & Fix The Challenges
Let’s get real, sometimes things can go wrong and despite every effort in the world by everyone it’s unavoidable. But with a wedding planner on your team you will likely never even know it happened. It’s incredible how well great wedding planners manage problems and challenges. With years of experience they are well versed in remedying any issue that could arise. This skill is pretty priceless if you ask me. No bride wants to have to deal with issues or things not going as they should on the biggest day of their life. Never ever knowing it happened until days later when you hear and laugh about it over brunch with your besties is the dream!
7. They Take The Workload
Quite literally they take the workload off of your nearest and dearest. If you didn’t have a wedding planner who would you put in charge of making sure your reception decor was right or that the flowers had been positioned right in the church? Your best friend, aunty, mum? Hiring a wedding planner takes those tasks off of those you love and allows them to be by your side and fully present on your day.
I don’t think I have ever had a bride regret hiring a wedding planner, if anything I’ve only ever heard frave compliments about how grateful they were to have spent that money on such a service. It’s often stories about how they helped in ways the bride had not ever accounted for when they set out to book them.
So if your budget allows for it then I would 100% advocate for a wedding planner.
Did you know that you can book them in different ways? From help with the planning only to hiring them to help only on the day of. There are lots of different packages out there for you to check out.
I thought I would end this blog with recommending two wedding planners I have actually worked with. These recommendations do not give me anything, no monetary exchange or co-recommending. They don’t have a clue I’m even naming them so you can be assured knowing that these two names are genuinely people who I have seen work and have witnessed doing an incredible job over and over again.
