// Marcus // A Baby Brother Has Arrived!
My work introduces me to families and let me into some of the most treasured times in their lives. Photographs of your family can truly be art for you to pass on to your children.
I absolutely love flying home to England and pulling out all of my mum and dads photo albums and spending the night looking through them, laughing, crying, cringing at some and hearing my parents tell the stories behind the photographs.
It is literally one of my favourite things to do each and every time I go home for a visit. So I feel so privileged to provide this for the families I meet.
These gorgeous kiddies above are part of a family I have got to return to. How special is that?!
I captured this little lady whilst she was still in her mummy's tummy, then got to photograph her newborn photos at just a few days old.
We have since got together to document and update their family photos before Mr Marcus made his appearance.
And now it was time to capture Marcus' arrival....
Heading back to capture photos of their new addition was so much fun. His big sister is so in love with him. She did so well with giving him cuddles and kisses for their sibling shots. A real dream toddler to work with.
And Marcus was a dream baby too. He slept through his session with ease and patiently let me move and pose him to my hearts content.
He made my job a breeze that September morning.
Oh my goodness his rolls are to die for. Curling him up just created more and more and its insanely cute. He reminded me of my first little guy Elijah, he was a big boy too (9lb 5oz!!!), so many rolls and chub to cuddle up.
The babies tend to love these fur filled baskets. Once I have them all snug in there with the heat cranked its like they could sleep there all day. My prop addiction is getting a little silly now. Its tough to fit it all in my car and get it all up to my condo based sessions.
Condo's often provide my sessions with some of the best lighting but man do I need to make my next purchase a fold up trolley for transporting all the props because Im definitely not downsizing my selection anytime soon.
The details of his tiny body are so precious you cannot not photograph them.
These are the feet that were kicking his mummy's tummy for all those months. So precious.
This hair...arghhhhh so adorable! Curls galore! My little guys had next to no hair until 18 months+ so I love when my work babies have full heads of hair. I am always the first to ask if the old wives tale is true....heartburn????
Occasionally during the session I luck out and have the camera at the ready when they pull off one of these cute smiles. Everyone may tell me its just wind but I have to disagree lol. I have photographed so many babies and I cling to the idea that they are pulling a cheeky smile just for one great photograph.
Again rolls, rolls, rolls and oh wait, more rolls.
So babies are my weakness. I don't think I will ever be able to give up Newborn Photography. I love the diversity of my sessions. It keeps me on my toes and maintains my passion and interest. I think it also gives me my baby fix which keeps hubby happy. Number three for me??? We'll see.
Mummy moments tug on my heart strings for that number 3 thats for sure.
It's such a special bond. I hope that when he looks back at this photo in years to come he will see what I see, adoration, love beyond measure, pride and protection.
Father's have a special place in their sons lives just like mummy's. How crazy will it be to look over this album when he towers his daddy.
Another family full of love captured.
My hope is that they treasure these photographs and laugh at the stories behind the images 20 years from now about how he pooped on this or that and how absolutely in love with him his big sister was, covering him with kisses and cuddles and wanting to be wrapped up in a stretch knit wrap just like her little brother.
Until next time...
